About Us
Berkeley Scientific Translation Service was founded in 1974 by a physicist and research engineer, Dr. Marlo Martin, and is located in downtown Berkeley a block from the University of California campus.
Dr. Martin has worked professionally in the areas of microwave systems development at Siemens Electronics in Munich, surface science at U.C. Berkeley, renewable energy research at the U.C. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and materials research on silica aerogel materials. He holds two patents, received his undergraduate degree from U.C. Berkeley and did graduate work at the University of Paris and the University of Chicago.
Berkeley Scientific is a technical and scientific translation service specializing in the translation of foreign patents, scientific journal articles, and engineering documentation.
We are a Corporate Member of the American Translators Association.
Our translators are all freelance professionals, many of whom have advanced degrees in one of the sciences, medicine, or engineering.
